Tyrannosaurus Was a Killer

"Was Tyrannosaurus a predator that hunted live prey, or a scavenger that ate dead animals?"
This has been a long-standing debate.
Researchers from the University of Kansas have announced that "a broken tooth of a Tyrannosaurus rex was found embedded in the tail of a hadrosaur."

What is remarkable is that "this fossil shows that the hadrosaur lived long enough for the wound to heal after being bitten by the Tyrannosaurus." This serves as "evidence that the Tyrannosaurus had bitten a living hadrosaur."
However, many modern carnivores engage in both predation (hunting live animals) and scavenging (eating dead animals). The debate now shifts to [which behavior was more common]. It is possible that Tyrannosaurus also obtained food through both predation and scavenging.
