Smallest Dinosaur in North America: 70cm Long, Under 1kg

A small dinosaur found in a Late Jurassic stratum (about 150 million years ago) in Colorado, USA, in the 1970s has been identified as a new genus and species.
It has been named "Fruitadens haagarorum."

Fossils corresponding to four individuals, including skulls and vertebrae, have been found.
The total length is about 70 cm, and the weight is estimated to be less than 1 kg. It was about the height of a Chihuahua, making it the smallest dinosaur fossil ever found in North America.
It is thought to have moved agilely. Based on its dental characteristics, it is likely to have been omnivorous (eating insects and plants).
