Therizinosaur Claw Fossil in Nakagawa, Hokkaido

A fossil found in Nakagawa, Hokkaido in September 2000 has been identified as the claw of a Cretaceous dinosaur, a therizinosaur.

This claw fossil was 14 cm long and weighed 180 g.
The individual is estimated to have been about 5 m long.

Tyrannosaurus Rex Grew 3,000 kg in 4 Years

A team of American scholars from the American Museum of Natural History and other institutions announced in the British scientific journal Nature that
"the growth period of Tyrannosaurus rex was from 14 to 18 years old, and during this growth period, it grew 2 kg per day, gaining 3,000 kg in four years."

The research team determined the relationship between age and body growth by examining the growth lines remaining in the cross-sections of seven Tyrannosaurus rex fossils.
