In a joint excavation in Hobetsu by the Mukawa Town Hobetsu Museum and the Hokkaido University Museum, a total of four tons of rock containing hadrosaurid fossils, including a femur and teeth, were recovered.
To date, 351 fossils have been confirmed.
Based on the size of the femur and other bones, the excavated dinosaur is estimated to have been about 7-8 meters in total length.

Associate Professor Kobayashi from the Hokkaido University Museum, who is leading the excavation, commented, "We are prioritizing the cleaning of the rock that is highly likely to contain the skull."
The excavated tooth fossils are 3 centimeters long, and over 100 have been found scattered.

Subsequently, a part of the fossil of the right maxilla, which is part of the skull, was discovered.
What was confirmed this time is about the rear third of the right maxilla (approximately 17 cm long, 10 cm wide).
